Amb. Zhou Attended the Signing Ceremony of Two Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreements between the Governments of China and Zambia

On 28 December, 2012, the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia H.E. Mr. Zhou Yuxiao and Hon. Alexander Bwalya Chikwanda, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Zambia, signed on behalf of their respective governments two Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreements under which grant and interest-free loans will be provided. The grant and interest-free loan facilities will be utilized on projects to be mutually agreed upon by the two governments.
At the Signing Ceremony, Hon. Chikwanda thanked the Chinese government for its continued supports to various sectors of the Zambian economy, including health, education, infrastructure, commerce and trade and etc. He said China is not only the friend of Zambia, but also the friend of entire Africa. He pledged to cherish the all-weather friendship between Zambia and China, and explore the mutual cooperation to its full potential.
Amb. Zhou congratulated Zambian government for the progress made in 2012 and hoped the PF government could make more achievements in 2013. He wished the two Agreements signed will translate into feasible projects, which may help alleviate the poverty level in Zambia and contribute to the social and economic development of Zambia. He also urged the Zambian government to make full use of and benefit from the measures announced by the Chinese government at the 5th Ministerial Meeting of FOCAC.
