3.2 Production Process/Plant and Equipment
Production technology of the NLC plant is based on the following main process sections.
a) Limestone quarry operated using the traditional open pit quarrying methods.
b) Section for crushing, screening and storing limestone.
c) Section for burning of limestone comprising:
- One Rotary Kiln
- One Annular Shaft Kiln (Vertical Kiln)
d) Section for hydration of burned llme
3.3 Employees
The company currently has a well trained and motivated permanent
workforce of 381 as at end or march 2003
PRIVATISATION SCHEDULE
it is intended that the process will be preceded by expression of interest form potential strategic equity partners, which will then be followed by advertisement for a formal sale. it is ZPA's objective that a preferred strategic partner is identified well before end of 2003. ZPA reserves the right to vary or terminate the timetable and process at its sole discretion. the strategic equity partner must be a lime/cement or related operator with the following attributes:
* Operations similar or larger than that of Ndola Lime
* Net Assets of at Least US$ 12 milllion
* Track recold o f successfully operating similar enterprises
interested parties should submit expressions of interest showing their operational profile.financial standing and interest to participate in the tender.
